Arcidiocesi di Milano

The Itinerary of Contemporary Churches is a cultural enhancement project promoted by the Archdiocese of Milan, connecting art, music and architecture across the diocesan territory. The itinerary involves over fifty churches built in the second half of the twentieth century, designed by prominent architects and enriched with artworks and sacred music initiatives.

Ideogramma developed the project’s visual identity and communication materials, creating a mark that synthesises the three domains defining the itinerary. The logo is formed by the union of three primary geometric shapes: the square for architecture, the triangle for art and the circle for music.

Yellow, chosen as the system’s distinctive colour, recalls the gold of liturgical tradition used on the most solemn occasions, contributing to recognisability and coherence.

The continuous composition and decomposition of the three elements generates a dynamic, flexible system applied across different media — from printed guides and thematic publications to signage within the churches. An identity designed to accompany the project while maintaining clarity and continuity across all communication levels.
